A new regulation similar to the ones in force in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and in Quebec, will soon require Brand Owners to collect and process the following products in the province of the Newfoundland and Labrador :
- Oils;
- Filters;
- Antifreeze;
- Containers of oil and antifreeze (50L. or less);
- Aerosol lubricants or brake cleaners.
On November 1st, 2018, in the Gazette was published this new Regulation under the name ** Regulation 101/18, Waste Management Regulations, 2003 (Amendment) under the Environmental Protection Act (O.C. 2018-221) **. The effective date of the program is scheduled for October 1st, 2019 (new date).
We are please to announce that UOMA Atlantic (UOMA NL, division of Newfoundland and Labrador) was appointed as the official agent to manage the program of recovery and reclamation of products relating to this new Regulation on behalf of its members.
